About KURAN

Born from rock,
built for generations.

For nearly three decades, KURAN Petroleum has operated at the intersection of geology, engineering, and community — transforming the hydrocarbon wealth of the Kurdistan Region into reliable, specification-grade energy for industry.

Our mission

To produce and deliver hydrocarbons with operational excellence, transparent governance, and long-term stewardship of the Kurdish land and its people.

Our operations span the entire value chain — from seismic surveys deep in the Zagros foothills to the export terminals where our product meets the global market. Every step is governed by rigorous HSE standards, international certification, and an unwavering commitment to the communities in which we operate.

We are majority-owned by regional investors and operate under the regulatory framework of the Kurdistan Regional Government. Our workforce is 84% local, and we invest a defined share of revenues back into community infrastructure and education.
